Technical rider
Everything you need to know as an organiser about sound, space and hospitality. We're flexible: this is what works best for us, and whatever doesn't work, we'll sort out together.
- Line-up
Johan: vocals, banjo and mandolin. Gijs: guitar (acoustic and electric) and backing vocals. Theo: bass and vocals. Daan: drums.
- Set length
Two sets of 45 to 50 minutes, or one 60-minute set. Almost anything is possible by arrangement.
- Sound and lights
As standard, the venue provides the PA and a sound engineer. We bring our own backline and drums.
Optional, for an extra fee: our own PA (enough for a decent-sized pub, anything bigger by arrangement), lights (two stands with four lamps) and a small smoke machine.
- Microphones
The microphones in the input list are a guide; the sound engineer’s own preference is welcome.
- Stage
At least 4 x 3 metres, ideally 5 x 4 metres. A level, solid surface is preferred. Outdoors, a stage or floor please, not grass.
- Power
At least two sockets by the stage, preferably three or four spread around it. We bring our own extension leads.
If we bring our own PA, lights and smoke, we need at least one 16A circuit, preferably two: one for sound and one for lights and smoke.
- Set-up and breakdown
Set-up and soundcheck: 1 hour, 2 hours with our own PA. Breakdown: 30 minutes, 1 hour with our own PA.
- Loading and parking
A loading spot close to the stage and parking for two cars.
- Playing outdoors
Only on a covered stage with stage lighting. In dangerous weather, such as thunderstorms, gales or temperatures above 30 °C, we decide together with the organiser whether it is safe to play. Safety comes first.
- Hospitality
It’s nice if there’s water and something to drink ready for us. A gig often means a large part of the day on the road for us. If there’s a meal at an agreed time, we don’t have to go looking for somewhere to eat on the way. No dressing room needed.
- Accommodation
If the gig is a long way off and we finish late, we’ll discuss an overnight stay beforehand. A simple place to sleep for four people is enough.
- Contact on the day
Johan is our contact on the day, and Gijs for technical questions. You’ll get their phone numbers with the confirmation.
